Windows Phone Marketplace hits 60,000 apps milestone

Posted by Michael Morys on January 23rd, 2012, 8:46 am

Windows Phone users and fans have something to celebrate over this last weekend. According to the latest report from All About Windows Phone, the Marketplace pushed past the 60,000 published app marker. It took the Marketplace just 25 days to grow from 50,000 to the now more than 60,000 apps in store, growing at a rate of about 400 apps a day over the recent four-week period. Seems quite impressive, doesn’t it? With the recent announcements of some high powered WP7 devices (Titan II and Lumia 900) and the addition of more quality apps, Windows Phone is shaping up to be a serious contender in the platform race. Alright Windows Phone fans, chime in and let me know which apps are must haves? Anyone make the switch to WP7 recently from Android or iPhone? Let us know!
